Nickname my grandmother once gave me (probably in Lingala Language) that means 'Pé Grande' (i wear 45 EU). Also inspired by the 'Nautical Eyes' in boat’s bows.
The first time i came in contact with this tradition was through my father's modeling stash, in the form of the Roman Birreme 'Impérator' model by Heller.
Later i also realized that they were still used in traditional Portuguese fishing boats.
'For thousands of years, eyes were considered the most important characteristic of any ornamentation found on a ship's bow. Those eyes kept watch over their vessel and crew'.
